Economic development Andean region has most of the country’s water resources and the most productive land for agriculture. Exploited its subsoil oil, emeralds, salt and other mineral wealth. Bogota, Cali and Medellin, the three most popular and economically powerful cities are in the Andean region. Cucuta, with significant economic development and its proximity to Venezuela is present in the region but not enough to compete in Bucaramanga great development because it is well advanced in industrial and social development and this is also the capital of eastern Colombia but this city Cucuta voters followed the step in a positive way.The city that stands in the northeastern region is Bucaramanga which is the fifth largest city with a good industrial and commercial products standing out for having the second GDP per capita in Colombia after Bogota city has the best quality of life of the nation and is known as the “city beautiful”, with buildings and is one of the more developed cities after Bogota, stands out in its techno-industrial interest since it says is the “Tecnopolis of the Andes” (for its shoe industry ) and development in petrochemical projects, followed cities like Pereira, Manizales and Armenia (the three capitals of the coffee). In the Andean region is over 80 of the country’s coffee crops, mainly distributed in the Coffee (Caldas, Risaralda, Quind o, Antioquia, Tolima, Cundinamarca and Norte de Santander).
